Memories about school days of Sudhir Gupta

Methodist High School, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Sudhir Gupta, a student proud of his prestigious educational home Methodist high school was full of respect for Ms. Lee and Ms. Strader his principal at that time. Of so many special memories of Sudhir, We remember he always enjoyed lots of hotdogs during the annual fete in the school from his principal’s stall.

We clearly remember once my father was called by ma’am Lee to ensure nutritious tiffin for Sudhir every day.

As Sudhir’s tiffin was found wanting of a healthy diet during one of the random checkings. Since then, the habit of good and healthy food became a tradition not only for Sudhir but for our full family, and Sudhir was the torchbearer to manage it always.

Mother Mariam who was in convent took a special liking for this ever-enterprising child and taught him English communication sitting in the garden.

Sudhir was in great love with gardens and corridors, which I realized where it came from when I visitedMethodist school, he always gave the example of the same to all the architects and contractors in any family construction.

He was highly influenced by William Shakespeare and used his lines as quotes in day-to-day life, a legacy given to him by his English faculty at school. A very good student of Craftwork the natural talent he learned knitting, braiding, and plants through practical training in school SUPW classes he remembered that small seeds can make huge trees. He planted more than 300 saplings and always nurtured his team of assistants and friends like plants. He always visualized everyone’s growth and a happy one too. He always wanted the asymmetrical and natural growth of plants. He was against cutting and the false shaping of Nature.

Sudhir Gupta’s hallmark was that he was a small part of every religion but a major part of no religion. After graduating he worked for Hoechst India and ICI India at different positions in different parts of India.

Sudhir had decided to become an entrepreneur in a field that involved training to uplift and upgrade the part of that society especially ladies and irresponsible men of the marginalized society in braiding and knotting this providing their full-time job in his start-up Zorba International. He was very keen to promote artisans producing hand-crafted products to international markets and created a strong market in Germany and other countries.

Sudhir had a passion for imparting education to all in spite of having a business background, therefore, focused on Don Bosco Foundation School which is running with a strength of 700 students. He wanted that everybody should learn and understand English and be presentable. Money however small an amount of Money comes as fees it should not hinder the study of children that was his motto. He had a lot of pleasant memories of MHS we remember a few of them. Too soon our heavenly Creatorcalled Sudhir to join his heavenly team, and is left of those nostalgic memories of a person who enjoyed life by giving the motivation to live creatively to others.

May his soul rest in peace with Almighty God, and his lively memories in our heart and minds forever.
